The following workshops and consulting can be provided at either the school or regional level, or as regional pre- or post-conference workshops:

• Support in adaptation and adoption of the AERO standards
• Curriculum alignment and mapping
• Curriculum development, with an emphasis on “backwards design” and the development of standards-based units of instruction
• Standards-based assessment
• The principles and methods of AERO:SAW
• Creating and supporting regional consortia to collaborate on curriculum, assessment, and instruction

Summer Workshops:

AERO Summer Institute 2008

The AERO Summer Institute for 2008 will be held at the Potomac School in McLean, Virginia from June 22-27. Six five-day curriculum institutes will be offered to school teams representing overseas schools. The courses offered this summer include:

• Academic Leadership for principals, curriculum coordinators and school heads.
• AERO-SAW: Evidence to Excellence
• Curriculum Mapping
• AERO:SBC (Standards-based Curriculum) workshops on curriculum design in:
• English/Language Arts
• Visual Arts
• World Languages

Tuition, room and meals are provided by the Office of Overseas Schools. Participants are responsible for the costs of travel to Washington, D.C. and any incidental expenses that they incur. Announcements and applications have been send to schools. Applications must be submitted by March 14, 2008.
